Sydney Life: Art in Open Air

Hyde Park brings connotations of London but Sydney too has its Hyde Park and apparently in days gone by this was a venue for speakers.  Last month my stroll through Hyde Park was to see the stunning large scale photographs of the annual “Sydney Life Exhibition.” Here works of the 22 finalists were hung on the sides of the Central walk away under a canopy of trees. It was a look at life in Sydney — moments captured with humour, moments that were fresh, and at times touching. I share a selection below that speaks for themselves. Rephotographing is never as good as seeing them but this one is also for my memories of a delightful evening at Hyde Park in Sydney.
